This coming weekend, Lisbon's Natural History and Science Museum will take in the first edition of the Independent Music Market (Mercado de Música Independente in portuguese). More than 20 national indie labels, distributors and artists (including Groovie Records, Hey Pachuco!, Chaputa, Cafetra, Mbari, Principe, AmorFúria, Shhpuma, Lovers & Lollipops, D.I.S.C.O.Texas and FlorCaveira) will be selling their records, as well as an international guest label - which for the debut of this event will be Drag City.
There will be an opening party on Friday, including concerts by Scottish trad-indie-folkie Alasdair Roberts plus portuguese acts Beautify Junkyards (folk/electronica) and guitarist Tó Trips (half of Dead Combo). Admission for both market and concerts is free.
